The City of Lincoln was a most appropriate place for a reunion as it had been established by the Romans as a settlement for Military Veterans, well Army actually, but we will ignore that.
Despite the official reunion being on a Saturday evening the entry members began arriving at the hotel anytime after 14:00 hrs on the Friday, better early than miss the beer, it was a good start.
Saturday evening started with a brief welcome and introduction by the Committee Chairman (Barry Neal). The gathering then settled down to more chat, drinking, eating and lashings of camaraderie. Ken Bannister had organised 2 pipers and himself from the Halton “Golden Oldies” to play the tunes we were all familiar with and this helped to set the pace of a great evening.
On the Sunday morning after breakfast those interested in culture and a ripping story were treated to a guided tour of the upper parts of Lincoln. It will come of no surprise to discover that the Tour Guides are none other than 2 of our members Mick Bath and Duncan Paterson.
